Music Hangouts with Eric Young!
Led by popular teacher Eric Young, our Musical Hangouts are open to ALL levels and ages. They are a fantastic way to try playing in front of others in a warm and supportive environment.
Hangouts are not formal recitals, and participants are welcome to share the musical pieces they’re working on or simply listen, and you are free to come and go as you please. The hangout usually lasts about an hour–although we frequently go over when we’re having fun! Our hangout features an eclectic mix of students from varying ages, levels, and instruments. You can even play part of a piece you are working on, or just come and watch others play.
Eric Young was our first teacher at GAMA several years ago! He has an incredible amount of experience with all ages and levels and received his degree in Piano Performance from the Butler School of Music at UT Austin where he studied with Gregory Allen and trained under Sophia Gilmson in piano pedagogy.
Besides being a warm and supportive pro teacher, Eric is a Ph D. in Pharmacology!
