How to Start Music Lessons
“How Do I start Music Lessons?”
We get asked this question a lot! So, we’d like to tell you a bit about how to get started, how lessons work, and what makes our school unique.
When you first contact us!
Meet Wade, our amazing school manager. When you first e-mail or call us you’ll chat Wade or another school member. We’ve helped hundreds of students just like you find the perfect teacher. We’ll want to get to know about you or your child and learn about your particular musical goals and interests.
Because our school has so many different teachers and styles, we have someone for everyone! We’ll make some suggestions based on your own goals and schedule.
Scheduling your lessons.
Lessons occur weekly at the same day and time with your private teacher. Over the years we’ve found the best way to get started is through a first lesson. To start we simply take a prorated first month’s tuition and our one-time registration fee.
We know this is a new experience! We’re so confident you’ll love it here at GAMA that we have a 100%, no questions asked, money-back-guarantee on your first month’s lessons.
We never “hard sell”. Everyone comes back each month because they want to be here, and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Tuition is month-to-month at a flat rate and there are no long-term contracts.
Your first lesson.
Once you’re signed up it’s time to celebrate! We’ll pass your information along to your teacher, and they will be ready to meet you at your lesson day and time.
After your first lesson, we’ll follow up to see how things went. If you have any questions we’re here to help. We’ll also help you with other trial lessons if you’d enjoy trying different teachers. Our goal is to work with you to have the best musical experience possible.
Starting lessons is only the beginning at GAMA.
We’re constantly working to offer more to our musical community with regular events you can’t find anywhere else. We’ll also check in on occasion to see how things are going in your 1-on-1 lessons and we are ALWAYS here to help you with whatever you need.
One of the unique things about our school are the many student events, community events, and partnerships we form. Things like having guest bands lead sing-a-long, bringing in artists for “master classes”, providing frequent low-pressure performance classes, and our new partnership with Beerthoven Craft piano lessons!
Here are just a few examples of frequent events you can only find at GAMA:
- Regular Schoolwide Student Recitals
- Movie Magic Sing-A-Long and Spooky Sing-A-Long
- Regular Performance Classes
- Jazz/Pop/Rock Jam Sessions
- Coffee and Composition
- Guest Classes
- Our Faculty Recital
- Open Mic Nights
- Special Parties and Events with our Neighbor Schools!

Because of our wide range of teachers we are able to find a great teacher for literally every level and style.
