Don’t worry Mr. Einstein–it’s never too late to start learning an instrument, and with enrollment open all year round, we are always happy to sign up new students from children to adults! In the two months following our big move, we’ve been busy turning our new studio location into a musical hub, and we’re very excited for some of the new group events we will be offering over the summer.
Coming up VERY soon is our Spring Recital on Saturday, June 8th! This recital is open to all current students and their families–and starting this year, it will take place in our very own Recital Hall. Our recitals are always a blast, and each year we are blown away by the talent of our students. If you can’t attend the recital, don’t worry! We have plenty more events coming up which you can read about below.

Matthew Jeans – Clarinet, Sax
Matthew’s introduction to music was the piano at age five, but it was clarinet that really captured his interest. He even played clarinet in a punk rock band for a while!

It’s been about two months since we moved into our new home, and we’re loving it! Towards the end of the summer we will be holding a Block Party/Open House with our wonderful neighbours which will be open both to current students and those interested in taking lessons here! Saturday 6/8: Spring Recital
This Saturday we will be hosting our Spring Recital, now in our very own Recital Hall! Our yearly recitals are a great opportunity for students to show off the progress they are making in lessons, and are always FREE for current students to attend.
Friday 6/21: Music Trivia Night
Think you’re a music whiz? Know a thing or two about theory, music history, or pop music lyrics? Test your knowledge at our music-themed trivia night! Starts at 7PM, hosted by our office manager Stevie.
Saturday 6/29: Performance Class
Led by our fabulous teacher Eric Young, Performance Classes are open to ALL current students regardless of age or level! They’re a great way for students to practice performing in front of others, even if the piece they’re working on is incomplete.
Come see the INCREDIBLY talented Sho H perform live at H Mart on Saturday, June 8th! Sho is a solo ukulele performer who plays everything from Star Wars covers to his own original works, sprucing up his tunes with electric effects and live looping. Enjoy dinner and drinks in the H Mart food court along with some rocking tunes! Visit his Facebook event for more information.
Interested in a different kind of sound? The Wepa Cumbia Roots Festival 2019 is happening all afternoon on Saturday, June 15th! Featuring a variety of artists, the Festival is a great way to learn about Cumbia, a style of music from the Caribbean region of Colombia. Tickets and more info here!
Our friends at KMFA, Austin’s premier classical radio station, are hosting their next New Music Mixer on Tuesday, June 18th! This monthly happy hour series welcomes classical music nerds and newbies alike for $1 off locally brewed pints and the chance to mingle with other folks who love new music. Have you been working hard on your classical music skills? Looking for a way to play with other musicians in a warm, welcoming setting? Classical Jams Austin is hosting jam sessions at Batch on the last Monday of every month! Join them on Monday, June 24th starting at 8PM. Sign up and show off that piece you’ve been practicing!
